The Boto is located in South America in the
Amazon and Orinco Rivers and their
tributaries
    Diet
Amazon catfish, piranhas and many other
river fish.  The Boto may also eat crabs and
turtles.
    Habitat
South American rivers in the Amazon
    Size
Botos measure approximately 6 - 9 feet *
and weighs up to 330 - 350 lbs.
    Reproduction
Gestation period is about 10 - 12 months.
The female will give birth to usually one
infant.

  • The Boto is born a dark grey color.  As it grows older it becomes pink and is sometimes referred to as the Pink Dolphin.
